Lately I’ve been reading blogs by left-wing individuals. In other words, I’ve been reading the opinions of liberal nutjobs. Specifically about the “mobs” (I’ve picked “David the Dagger” for my own mob name) that have “attacked” members of Congress at townhall meetings. I think its kinda funneh that the conservatives are considered the mobsters and the liberals are just great people. Here’s why I think it’s funny.
Note: this guy is censoring himself for TV, probably by request of the show. That’s why it seems kinda awkward.
Kinda funny, in the sense that the liberals are the ones that are usually considered the “racially tolerant” ones. But who’s the mob here? The people protesting, or the unions and liberals attacking the protestors for daring to have an opinion of their own?!
But again, we’re here to talk about the liberal bloggers. These people don’t seem to have any facts, just opinions. They use phrases and terms like, “it seems to me that,” and ,”in my opinion,” yet don’t provide any real facts and figures to compliment what they’re saying. They use pure emotion. They love the “don’t you have a heart?” and “don’t you feel this way?” and “we have to provide for these people because its the right thing to do!” Let me be clear, no we don’t.
For instance, one poster said that all of these other western civilized country have such wonderful socialized healthcare and because they have it so should we. And we should have it because all of these people go uninsured and all of these people are all just so pathetic and can’t get a foot in the world without health insurance and we have to provide it for them. I’ll tell you what, if you want to give these people health insurance, than YOU do it. Don’t drag me into your self-sacrificial bullshit. You have no right to what I earn and I’ll be damned if I forfeit any of it over to you without a fight. If all of these people just have to be insured, you make an insurance company and you run it so that all of the uninsured can get insured.
You people assume that I, an individual, must provide for you. Don’t even say that isn’t so, because that’s what socialized healthcare is. Its one person forfeiting his wages to pay for another person’s medical care at the point of the government’s gun. There is no way around that. It is the confiscation of wealth and it is the destruction of the individual. We are not our brothers’ keepers. We have no obligation to those who are poor by no fault of our own. We do not owe you anything, dammit!
“But we’re not moving to socialize healthcare, just make a public option!” You think so? There is a provision in the bill saying that if you, for whatever reason, don’t have insurance now or if for some reason you lose your current insurance (losing your job or the insurance company going bankrupt), than you cannot rejoin the private sector. You will be forced to join the government bill and you will get the same insurance as everyone else. Then, once everyone’s on the same bill, the government will start deciding who to pay for, because the prices are going to be enormous. After all, our healthcare market is about 1/6 of the economy. When the government takes over 1/6 of the economy, they will start realizing that they can’t just throw out money for blood tests. After all, you may not be sick at all and the blood test might not be cost efficient. For example, you cannot get a simple blood test in Canada by a public sector doctor in any kind of time. I saw a video where they would have to wait up to 6 years for a blood test unless they went to a private clinic where they would have to pay $900 for a blood test (but no worries, if your dog needs a blood test, he can still get one for about $10 because they aren’t part of the public system).
Also, they say, the only people who will be hurt by this is the rich. Wrong. There isn’t enough wealth at the top of the food chain to pay for everyone’s healthcare. They already pay confiscatory sums to the federal government every year. Added on to that tax is the state taxes. Then there are local taxes. All in all, the majority of their income gets confiscated by the government already. Then we’ll all have to pay and the only people who will benefit from this program will be those that don’t have anything and those that are so rich that they’ll still be able to get private healthcare. You think there won’t be some super rich people like Bill Gates and Oprah and all of the government officials who won’t have to wait at the back of the line like you and me for their cat-scans? Think again.
The fact of the matter is that a public option will destroy us. The private sector right now isn’t the cause of so much strife, like the liberals would have you believe. The only things making the private sector health insurance so damned expensive at the moment are 1.) trial lawyers who sue if a doctor doesn’t do a test that is usually unnecessary (mal-practice insurace is sky-high for doctors and hospitals), 2.) illegal immigrants using the law to benefit them (they use the ER, which can’t turn anyone away, for simple problems they could go to a normal doctor for; they don’t pay the tab afterwards, after all, who can prove they even exist?) which causes the price of care to go up, causing the price of insurance to go up, and 3.) medicare and medicaid which both pay pennies on the dollar, which causes care to go up (they have to be able to make some profit or at least come out even) which causes insurance to go up. That’s why our health care system is where it’s actually at.
And what about those greedy companies? We often forget that companies aren’t computers but people who have families. People who have worked really hard to do what they do. People who need some kind of money to survive and earn it through their hard work. The insurance companies aren’t some abstract thought you can just attack at will, the insurance companies are providers of jobs. Health insurance companies are entities that have people, like you and me, trying to work their way up in the world to someday maybe live comfortably and not have to worry about their bills as much as they did last year. That has been the one malicious lie that hits me the hardest because they are demonizing people not for stealing money by way of pointing a gun at them, but providing a service for people who decide its worth something.
That is the trajedy of this debate. We have informed, intelligent people providing facts and figures debating people who fight back saying “what right do the rich have to their money when other people need it!” from their cozy five-bedroom houses. Its the hypocritical looting rich who steal their money from those who have earned it by running a business we should be fighting, not those men and women trying to make money by providing a service to others.
Fight the tyranny of the looters. Fight for liberty.
